beautiful like you

escaping from the grisly reports
of what they want us to believe
reality is
i fall into the rabbit hole of nature or fantasy
sometimes both intertwined

because the truth is our reality is shaped by
our perceptions and experiences in this world
none of us has a prefectly clean lens
so have no fear of perfection it is not ours to hold
just follow your heart and your dreams

if i listened to everything told me i wouldn’t be able to do
then i’d be laying broken and alone in some hole
all my life i have been different and strange
yet i find there’s something more beautiful in the broken
than there is in those that are whole and without scar

we have an authenticity that cannot be faked
let us have our roots be so far in that they can't rip us from ourselves
because in a world that is always trying to fold us into our own image
we must be true to our own hearts and be who we truly are
because we are all blooming beautifully in our own way.
